How the NDP Works: |

Every Party member becomes a member of the provincial and federal constituency in which s/he resides in. Constituency associations are the foundation of the Party's structure. These grassroot organizations are responsible to recruit members, organize educationals, promote policy discussion in the constituency and organize for election campaigns.

NDP Member Rights: |
- speak freely and openly and vote at general meetings of their constituency association and any other New Democratic Party clubs or organization in which they are members;
- stand for election as a delegate for party conventions or as the constituency representative to the Party's governing Council,
- vote at the nominating meeting of the constituency association which selects the Party's candidate for the constituency,
- stand for election as a member of the executive of their constituency association,
- seek nomination as candidate for a federal or provincial constituency association, and
- stand for election as an officer of the party.
