NDP Plan for 2000 More Child Care Spaces

Premier Lorne Calvert today announced that a New Democratic government will create 2,000 new child care spaces, helping families provide their children with a good start in life.

The increase will take place in three stages that will see the minimum wage move to $8.25 per hour on January 1, 2008, to $8.60 on May 1, 2008 and to $9.25 per hour on May 1, 2009.
